Role
The Resource Mobilization Assistant Consultant will provide operational and administrative support to the Resource Mobilization Unit, with a particular focus on engagement with contributors in Europe and the Americas. The consultant will assist in replenishment and resource mobilization activities, ensuring smooth coordination and effective communication.
This consultancy will be based at the Fund’s headquarters in Songdo, Incheon City, Republic of Korea, for an initial period of one year.

 

Duties and responsibilities

Under the overall guidance of the Director of DPRM, the Resource Mobilization Assistant Consultant will:

  • Conduct desk research on contributor countries’ budgetary trends, ODA flows, and key policy priorities to inform GCF’s engagement and resource mobilization strategies.
  • Support outreach and engagement with contributors in Europe and the Americas including preparing briefing notes, conducting analytical work, and coordinating input from various departments across the Secretariat.
  • Draft official documents, reports, and correspondence.
  • Maintain and update the contributor engagement databases, including CRM.
  • Coordinate internal communications flow, ensuring timely dissemination of information and responding to routine information requests.

 

Expected experience and qualifications

  • Master’s degree in development studies, finance, climate change, economics, public affairs, political science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in resource mobilization, international relations, or governmental administration.
  • Desirable: Strong understanding of GCF policies and processes related to resource mobilization, as well as the broader international climate finance landscape and the policy and authorizing environments of contributors in Europe and the Americas.
  • Experience and knowledge in development and/or climate finance, multilateral funds, and familiarity with the UNFCCC framework.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to multitask and deliver quality work under pressure.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English; knowledge of another UN language is an advantage.
